In order to be a member of the
American Legion,
you must have been a member of the Armed Forces of the United States
of America for at least one day during one of the following periods
of conflict:

You must have been Honorably Discharged or
are still serving Honorably in the Armed Forces.
(PLEASE NOTE: Post 448 does not
recognize discharges from the Armed Services under 'less than
honorable conditions' when that discharge was made for 'Homosexual
Conduct'. All service Veterans discharged for homosexual conduct are
welcome to apply for membership in the Alexander Hamilton Post
448 of the American Legion. Post 448 will assist the new member in
upgrading their discharge to Honorable, where practicable.)
Armed Forces of the United States of
America is defined as being the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast
Guard, or Merchant Marines of the U.S.A.
The dues for a member of the Alexander
Hamilton Post 448, American Legion, are $30.00 annually.
Membership in the
Sons of the American Legion
is reserved for those who are the children, grandchildren, or other
accepted relation of an Honorably Discharged Veteran of one of the
conflicts listed above. SAL dues are $20.00 annually.
If you are not eligible for American Legion
membership, or membership in the SAL, you can join our support
group, The Alexander Hamilton
Veterans Association. Members of
the Association share in all activities of the post, but cannot hold
office in the post or vote. Association dues are $20.00 annually.
